Being from North Tyrol, I have a special connection to this part of Italy. This region unites striking contrasts, shaped by both nature and human influence. The film takes us to breathtaking locations that captivate the combination of cultivated landscapes and Alpine wildernesses and examines the many natural riches of the “land between”.

The famous Sisi films of the 1950s cemented an image of Archduchess Sophie as a stereotypical evil mother-in-law, even though she was in fact a driving force of the Habsburg monarchy. This documentary particularly spoke to me as this dominating historical narrative needs to be turned over and her story has to be retold.

This title caught my eye as it features a travel destination I hope to visit someday and showcases its unique ecological diversity, including one of my favourite animals, sea turtles. The documentary also highlights the important conservation work that nature activists are doing to keep this natural paradise alive. A perfect program for the upcoming Earth Day on April 22^nd!

Inspector Oliver Jones can communicate with the dead, blurring the line between the living and the dead. I love narrative complexity in television, and this series creates a world where both sides are unreliable narrators – can the dead truly help reveal the truth?

Tatort Vienna typically addresses current issues. In that movie, it is the deplorable state of the care sector, including a twist at the end. This one is worth watching as this is one of the last ones with the widely beloved investigation duo Bibi & Moritz
