Starting this first edition is me – I’m Irena, the person behind all of our marketing activities. Having started in this industry as an intern, I’ve been a permanent part of this team for nearly two years, enjoying the whirlwind that the world of content distribution has to offer.

Enjoy the first edition of "Team's Picks" featuring my top choices!

Wildlife 2.0 – Adapting to a New World

This UNIVERSUM Nature film shows how rural habitats are transformed by human influence and energy transition, highlighting conservation efforts amidst urban structures. I love how it captures nature's adaptation it's really fascinating!

Pride and Persecution – Milestones of Queer History

The UNIVERSUM History highlight “Pride and Persecution” is a great pick for everyone interested in history and the challenges minorities in societies are facing. This documentary takes a deep dive into how the modern LGBTIQIA+ movement started in Vienna and Berlin a century ago.

Paradise on the Brink? Climate Changing Effects on Polar Fauna

When it comes to my favorite animals, choosing this program was an easy one. The documentary not only features adorable penguins but also highlights the critical issues of their diminishing habitats. A must-watch for animal enthusiasts!

Poor Us – How Poverty is Damaging Society

Valuing social awareness a lot, "Poor Us" caught my attention. It's an eye-opening look at how poverty affects people and serves as a gentle reminder of the privileges we often overlook.

Hansel and Gretel – Volksoper Vienna

Having loved the Grimms Brothers’ tale of "Hansel and Gretel" since childhood, watching Karl Dönch's version of Humperdinck’s Opera brought back fond memories.

Tatort: Dead Candy

As both a crime and music fan, this "Tatort" episode quickly drew my attention. Detectives Bibi and Moritz investigate a crime in Vienna's rap underworld, with Austrian rapper Jugo Ürdens making an appearance.

Lights Out – Survival for Beginners

I enjoyed “Lights Out” because it showcases human resilience and community cooperation, turning chaos into opportunity and offering inspiring narratives that resonate deeply with those who enjoy stories about overcoming adversity.

I hope you enjoyed the glimpse into the world of my personal picks from our extensive portfolio!
