ORF Universum Nature kicks off 2026 with international acclaim at Europe’s most highly endowed competition for nature documentaries, the European Wildlife Film Awards.
HAMBURG/VIENNA – The ORF Universum Nature documentary “Wildlife 2.0 – Adapting to a New World” has received yet another accolade, winning Best European Film in the Conservation category at the European Wildlife Film Awards. The awards ceremony was held on 7 February at the Wildlife Embassy’s Nature Film Cinema in Hamburg.
“These awards underline once again the international benchmark our ‘Universum’ brand continues to set. They reaffirm our mission to showcase European nature in all its diversity, captured with precision, visual excellence, and a deep understanding of a continent in constant flux”, says Gernot Lercher, Head of the ORF brand Universum Nature.
Directed and produced by Patrick Centurioni in a co-production by ORF, ARTE GEIE, NDR in association with ORF-Enterprise, “Wildlife 2.0 – Adapting to a New World” continues its remarkable international festival success. Following its Golden Alpine Camera win at the Mountainfilm Festival 2024, the film now reaffirms its status as a standout exploration of how wildlife adapts to landscapes increasingly shaped by human influence.
